How To Get Buyers To Your Affiliate Links Feat Darryl Gray (The Unappreciated Sales King)

What if I told you that a 17-year-old kid might be earning more money than your typical 9 to 5 job through affiliate links? If you don’t believe me, then I’m here to prove it!

Darryl Gray is a 17-year-old High-School student and just like many of us, his life was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. But that didn’t stop him from living his life the way he wants. In this blog, I am going to share his 7 step formula on how you should write emails to get buyers back on your link as well as the importance of copywriting. First, let’s talk about copywriting. No, it doesn’t mean you’re protecting your content.

Copyright is different from copywriting. It is a written content that aims to increase brand awareness and ultimately persuade a person or group to take a particular action. Copywriters write for the purpose of advertising or other forms of marketing. Copywriting is very important in affiliate marketing and here’s why:

1. Telling a story that gets buyers over the hump through your emails – The emails you write to your buyers are the same emails that cause them to go through your platforms. The content of your email must be something that would make them feel that what you are showing them is something that will satisfy their needs or wants. If your email doesn’t make them feel that they need to see what’s on your platforms or what you are selling, then you’d be losing customers. Sending them personalized emails also increases the chance for them to buy your product, so make sure to be as creative and interested as you can.

2. They believe you and want to take you up on your opportunity offer – Of course, writing emails is not the only important thing, your product must be something that you can stand for. If you can’t show people that your product is worth buying, then most of them won’t buy your products and much worse, they won’t even end up on your email list. Make sure to put significant information in your email and that they are really written for each individual. Doing so will make them interested in you and what you sell so make an effort when writing these emails.

With that being said, here’s the 7-step formula I mentioned earlier.

1. Strong headline – A lot of people won’t bother reading random emails all the time. If your headline can’t catch the attention of your recipients then you’d be wasting valuable customers. One of the most important elements when writing is the headline because readers often tend to read them first before the actual body.

2. Questions that are related to the headline – You need a good introduction of what you’d be doing and it has to be related to the headline. Your introduction would be a key to making your readers want to read more.

3. Go into the topic – Most people have short attention spans. If you already got them to read your email, don’t waste their time by sharing unnecessary stories. Go straight to the topic, so they won’t be thinking that they’re wasting their time reading your email. Not everyone is patient when reading, so make sure to be straight to the point, so they will know what you are emailing them for.

4. Give an overview – At this point, your readers would probably be thinking, how could you help them? That’s why after you write the topic, you should give them a short overview or even a story to connect with them on a deeper level. This is the part where you build trust with your readers and turn them into customers.

5. Introduce the product – Introducing the product plays a major role because if you don’t introduce the product properly in your affiliate links, your customers will have a lot of doubts and questions in their heads. You need to give a strong impression on why they would need the product or how the product has helped you. Make sure to put the necessary information about your product especially those that you think they will be interested to know about. Leaving some information unmentioned can lose their interest.

6. A strong call to action – Don’t leave your customers wondering what to do next. People are always left with uncertainties and fear that’s why you need to tell them what to do after they read your email or else, they would be stuck doing nothing.

7. Sign off properly – Don’t make your customers feel like you’re pushing the product on them. You have to show them that you’re open to any questions. If they end up asking another entrepreneur who has the same product, they might end up buying from them and not from you.

Now you know the 7-step formula in writing a good email! The only thing left to do now is practice! Once you get better at doing these, you will surely start selling a lot of affiliate links. If you’re still lost on how to make one here are some key takeaways for you.

1. Always tell a story because facts are boring and nobody reads boring emails.

2. Open up your problems because shallow stories turn people off.

3. Avoid writing everything on the sales page. Instead, try to create a personal connection with your buyer.

4. Avoid emails that only you would buy from.

When it comes to being an affiliate, It really is important that you are somehow knowledgeable in copywriting, or if not, you can always hire a writer to do copywriting for you. It is also important that you can write enticing emails or else no one will buy your emails. Always make an effort to write better emails. Reread your written email and ask yourself if you would buy the product after reading it. As you get better at writing these emails, you will surely also improve your sales as an affiliate, so make sure to keep practicing!
